We had always talked about marraige and kids in our future, and after we had been dating for 3 years in the Fall of 2010, I slightly began hinting that I wanted to be his fiance. So one night, on October 25th 2010, I was up in his room watching TV and he told me he had to go downstairs to help his Mom with something. I thought nothing of it at first, but after he was gone for a while, I got a call on my phone from him and my stomach turned into a knot (in a good way). He said, "Come downstairs," and I replied, "Why?" "Just... I need you to come down here," he said, trying not to give anything away. My stomach was doing flips now. I knew something was up. I slowly went downstairs, and I looked out the sliding glass doors and saw him standing outside in the dark with a candle lit on the table on the back porch. I was still a little confused but a big smile slid across my face. I opened the doors and walked outside. He got down on one knee, handed me a beautiful rose he picked from a bush, along with his promise ring (because I had misplaced mine at the time). He told me that ever since the moment he saw me he knew we were meant to be together forever. He told me that he loved me more than anything in this world, and he said some more beautiful words, but honestly I was so nervous and happy and giddy, it all became a blur until I heard the words, "Will you marry me?" "Yes!!!" I said, as we hugged. My whole body was shaking from nerves and happiness. His parents unknowingly/accidently interrupted, opening the sliding doors and saying hello, then they went back inside after they realized something special was happening. We hugged and kissed, and I was happier than I had ever been in my life. After that, we told family and announced it on Facebook for everyone to see! We've had our ups and downs since then, but all of our time together has brought us to where we are today, and I couldn't have asked for a better Husband and partner in crime. God has blessed me with my one true love, my soulmate, and I will forever be grateful for that.
