Costa Rica

Jason and I have been together for ten amazing, crazy, beautiful years. While we do need a few things around the house, we do not need enough to fill a complete registry with Bed Bath and Beyond. We are super stoked about spending our honeymoon in Costa Rica. We will spend six nights there, the first three will be in the Jungle next to the Arenal Volcano National Park and the last three will be on the beaches of Papagayo. We look forward to celebrating this next chapter in our lives with the honeymoon of our dreams!

​Enjoy the sweetest rainforest experience while you discover the ancient secrets of chocolate. Learn about the initial discovery of cacao beans in tropical America, to the processing of the product we know and enjoy today. Considered as “a gift of the Gods”, the cacao tree was very important to the ancient people of the Americas as a ceremonial drink and the seeds were also used as currency. because of its economic value, in many regions of Mesoamerica, including Costa Rica. In this two-hour “hands on” program, you will have the opportunity to learn interesting aspects of cocoa and chocolate, from its origin and history, to the production process, the harvesting of the fruit, drying and grinding of the seed, and the developing of the traditional drink of our ancestors. Of course you will also be able to drink a high quality organic chocolate!

Our tour begins with a hiking trip through a tropical humid forest, passing bridges and spectacular scenery, to the Fortuna Waterfall with amazing swimming holes. After our honeymoon lunch at "Lava Rocks Restaurant" we will make our way to tour the Arenal Volcano. As we walk up the lava flows and watch the sunset we'll await the darkness to see and hear glowing rocks of lava tumbling down the side of the mountain, then it's time for a relaxing soak in the warmed mineral waters of Tabacon Resort and a romantic honeymoon dinner for two!
