Friday, October 25: A Day Around Town! Join us as we visit highlights of historic Natchitoches, established in 1714. Natchitoches (Nack’-ah-tish) is famous for being the first French colony in Louisiana, older than New Orleans by four years. It is also known for its Creole culture and cuisine. 12:00 p.m.: For lunch, enjoy delicious and authentic Louisiana cuisine at a local staple: Lasyone’s Restaurant, and bond as a family. http://lasyones.com/ Daytime possibilities include: Fort St. Jean Baptiste Historic Site Louisiana Sports Hall of Fame Kaffie-Frederick General Store (Louisiana’s oldest) Cane River Paddle and Pedal Scenic drive to Melrose, Oakland and Magnolia Plantations Toledo Bend Lake/Dam Time and Dinner Location to be Determined: Cane River Commissary or Grayson’s Barbeque, one of the South’s best since 1965, in nearby Clarence. After dinner, enjoy Natchitoches’ National Landmark Historic District with family and friends. Proposed attire: Casual, comfortable Saturday, October 26: Our Wedding Day! 9 a.m.: The guys will enjoy an activity of their choosing, and the ladies will enjoy a day of pampering. 3:15 p.m.: Transportation will be provided to the old family home, about a half-hour from Natchitoches, where the wedding starts at 4 p.m. Following the ceremony, informal and a few posed photos will be made nearby as guests enjoy drinks and visiting. 6:15 p.m.: Guests will then be transported back to Merci Beaucoup Restaurant in downtown Natchitoches for the reception dinner. The Cocktail Hour at Merci Beaucoup will feature heavy appetizers, and a cash bar will be available. The Dinner Entrée is your choice of a 7 Oz. Filet Mignon, Catfish Beaucoup or Church Street Salad. Kids will enjoy a Chicken Strip Dinner.
After the wedding reception, guests are invited to again explore downtown Natchitoches and enjoy its charm. Proposed attire: Dressy, but comfortable Sunday, October 27: Time to say “see you later!” 9 a.m.: Join us for coffee and breakfast at the hotel before we depart for our St. Lucia Honeymoon |
